Learning to Sound Out Words

When children start to sound out words, it is easier if they can keep their “voice on”.  For example, help them to sound out the word “sun” like this /ssssuuunnnn/ as their mouth moves between each sound, rather than /s/-/u/-/n/ with a break between sounds.
