Speech Pathology Tasmania Business Manager Sharon Breen

The new year brings exciting new things at Speech Pathology Tasmania! Here is a word from our Business Manager Sharon Breen as we settle into 2022 and embark on a new year of speech therapy services:

Happy new year to all our wonderful existing clients and a warm welcome to our new clients. In 2022 SPT will be welcoming six new staff members: four speech pathologists, one therapy assistant and a new full-time admin assistant. We are excited about our team expanding and the potential to increase our capacity to provide services to more Tasmanians in need of speech therapy.

As we navigate the uncertain times around COVID, you can be assured that the team at SPT are practising safe COVID procedures and ensure that each consulting room is clean and ready for you. Our staff are very conscious of the need to provide a safe environment for you. If you have any concerns, please see our friendly reception team who can schedule a zoom meeting for you.

With schools about to resume across Tasmania, our team will be helping more families through school assessments. SPT clinicians will be on site at around 25 schools across Tasmania, assessing approximately 700 children during Term 1 and early Term 2. This may mean slightly fewer in-clinic appointments are available during this period. We thank you for your patience as we provide this valuable service to so many Tasmanian families in the critical early stage of schooling.

I am looking forward to an exciting and fulfilling year.
