Introducing our new Bush Adventure Therapy Program
Speech Pathology Tasmania together with Dooloomai Bush Adventure Therapy are pleased to invite you to an information session about a new group we are starting.
Dooloomai has been running adventure programs for young people for more than 20 years. The programs involve outdoor day trips and activities in nature that are facilitated to provide therapeutic outcomes. Activities include hiking, kayaking and climbing through the Tasmanian bush.
Speech Pathology Tasmania is teaming up with Dooloomai to create a new group (or multiple groups depending on interest and ages of participants) for clients with social communication goals. This new program is especially suitable for NDIS participants with social communication goals in their current NDIS plan.
The program is not limited to current clients, but will be open to anyone seeking social communication therapy in a group setting for their 10-24 year old children. Groups will be based on age range.
The goal is to create opportunity for social engagement in a supported environment that serves each participant’s individual NDIS goals.
The pilot program will be starting in November.
We are holding an information session to introduce the program and answer any questions you might have.
