Circle of Security Parent DVD Program®

Supporting the Relational Base of Language and Social Skills

Decades of research have confirmed that secure children exhibit increased empathy, greater self-esteem, better relationships with parents and peers, enhanced school readiness, and an increased capacity to handle emotions more effectively when compared with children who are not secure.

Speech Pathology Tasmania offers the Circle of Security Parent DVD Program® to parents, grandparents, parents-to-be or carers who would like to join us.

We have great gratitude to Circle of Security International for the work and heart that brought this beautiful program into the world and made it available to practitioners like we of Speech Pathology Tasmania.

More about the Circle of Security:

This program targets the development of connection, relationship and attachment – which are also foundations for language development, social skills development and good mental health.

We’ve been running these sessions in our clinic for more than a decade, and knowing the research behind the work and the benefits that spring from it, we are pleased to now offer it more broadly – at times when children are likely to be sleeping. We love the warm, accepting, non-judgmental, non-blaming approach to exploring attachment.

At a time of isolating and change-rapid world crisis, nothing brings personal support as powerfully as secure connection. The Circle of Security program itself is practical, kind, scientific, appropriately challenging and wonderfully gentle. It stimulates new insights and offers clear direction to support the enrichment of parent-child relationships immediately… and beyond.

Circle of Security for Foster Carers:

We are thrilled to partner with the Foster and Kinship Carers Association of Tasmania (FKAT) to offer the Circle of Security Program to grandparents raising grandchildren, informal kin, and Foster & Kinship Carers.

FKAT will fund each participant to undertake the course. Carers do not need to be members of FKAT to participate but do need to be living in Tasmania.

A group specifically for foster carers usually takes place on Wednesday mornings 10:30am – 12:30pm for 8 weeks. Carers may also join the Monday evening group which is open to everyone.

If you are interested in joining the next program for carers please complete the enquiries form below.
