What participants can expect?
Orton-Gillingham Language Approach training provides participants with the skills they need to understand, plan and deliver the fundamentals of reading instruction:
- Phonological awareness
- Phonics – for word reading and spelling
- Fluency
- Vocabulary
- Comprehension
- Early foundations for writing
Learning outcomes include:
- Understand key components for reading and spelling success.
- Identify student challenges and plan effective interventions.
- Learn the Yoshimoto scope and sequence for teaching phonetic elements for single and multisyllable words.
- Address the needs of students with dyslexia and reading difficulties.
- Develop and implement structured, multisensory lesson plans for various group sizes.
- Master key elements of reading instruction and integrate them into lessons.
- Access resources and strategies for classroom integration.
- Learn structured, multisensory techniques for teaching reading and spelling skills.
- Apply correction procedures.
- Deliver a diagnostic/prescriptive teaching approach.

- Morning tea and lunch provided daily
- After training, you’ll be invited to join the OG Language Approach Alumni, granting you access to new resources, ideas, and Q&A sessions with Linda McKillop!
This course is accredited by the International Dyslexia Association.
On completion of the training, you will receive a certificate with the allocated amount of time to go towards your professional learning record.
