Voice Care Essentials
Voice Care Essentials is a 4-hour online program run over two evenings, focusing on the foundations of a healthy voice.
The course is a practical introduction to voice care.

- have opportunity to learn and practice a range of exercises and techniques for producing a clear and resonant speaking voice with minimum effort.
Limited places are available. Participant numbers are limited to allow for individual coaching and feedback. The webinar will be an interactive event with opportunity for each participant to learn from the host and each other.

When is it?
The two-part webinar will take place online at 6:30pm-8:30pm on Monday 28th September and Monday 5th October.
How much does it cost?
The cost for the program is $220 per person. This includes participation in a small group for both two-hour webinar sessions, written course materials, and exclusive access to recordings of the sessions afterwards. Limited places are available.
Who is it for?
Voice Care Essentials is suitable for anyone who wants to learn how to use their voice optimally and to look after their voice. It will be particularly beneficial to anyone who has experienced vocal fatigue or loss of voice. It will also be of interest to those whose work places demands on their voice due to public speaking or roles where the voice is competing against background noise, including:
- Fitness instructors
- Call Centre staff
- Customer service staff
- Hospitality staff
The program is not exclusive to these industries, however. Registration is open to anyone for any reason.
The program will provide a bridge between theory and practice. Participants will learn some theory in order that practical exercises make sense. The emphasis is towards learning and practicing techniques for good vocal health and healthy voice production. Over two online sessions, the content will cover:
- Important aspects of vocal hygiene (looking after your voice)
- Understanding vocal anatomy and physiology, i.e. how does your voice work?
- Learning healthy voicing techniques, incl. exercises for breathing and techniques for healthy voice production
- Opportunities to practice and receive feedback on practical techniques
Mariam Seeney (Certified Practising Speech Pathologist; Member of Speech Pathology Australia & Australian Voice Association).
Mariam is a Hobart-based Speech Pathologist with a passion for the human voice. She started her career as an English Foreign Language teacher, with a degree specialisation in Linguistics. She was drawn to Speech Pathology in pursuit of deeper understanding of the mechanisms for communication: speech, language and voice. Mariam has been part of the Speech Pathology Tasmania team for 10 years, providing support to children and adults with a range of communication difficulties. Mariam has undertaken extensive training and professional development into the specialist area of voice therapy and is quickly becoming recognised as one of Hobart’s leading private practitioners in this field. Mariam brings to her work her life-long involvement in the performing arts, as both a stage actor and singer. She is the founding member of acappella ensemble The Clementines, and has performed at various venues and festivals around Tasmania.
