We’re excited to annouce the launch of our new resource website, Figure of Speech Resources.
For a long time now, we’ve had a vision to create a space where people could come for support and resources to help nurture and enrich the development of language and literacy in their own children – or children in their care.
Our very own Sheila Steele, who works in the North-West Coast of Tasmania, has spent countless hours developing our first available resource, which are the ‘Icing on the Cake’ book packs. Sheila has written a blog post for the new website to share how the inspiration for this resource came about.
The ‘Icing on the Cake’ book packs are designed to be used in conjunction with books you are likely to already have at home, or they can easily be loaned from your local library. They have been developed using Blank’s Levels of Questioning to help children grow in the areas of awareness and comprehension while also enjoying a story with their parent, teacher or caregiver.
We look forward to listing more resources on our website as soon as they are developed, and there’ll also be a much more streamlined way of registering and enrolling for upcoming programs coming soon!
