Language Unleashed: Conjunctions and Irregular Plurals
The Conjunctions and Irregular Verbs resource is aimed to develop the use of complex sentences, and to develop the use of the correct vocabulary for irregular plural nouns.
The Conjunctions and Irregular Plurals include 7 conjunctions and 10 high frequency irregular plurals:
- But, because, so, when, or, if, to
- Mice, children, fish, men, women, people, feet, sheep, teeth, leaves
When you purchase this resource, you will receive:
- Detailed instructions to walk you through the tasks, including record sheets and handouts that you can share with others.
- Carry over tasks to support family, school and therapy to work together.
- Scripts to match many carefully chosen images for every conjunction and plurals This means a high dosage and better outcomes for your learner. Every script focuses on use of the target conjunction and the target verb in a complex sentence. These scripts build your learner’s skill to first repeat and then create these complex and accurate sentences.
- Embedded revision: we understand that the cognitive load is higher in these tasks. We are asking learners to extend their sentences and use the right words. This can be hard! We have included revision and graded complexity throughout the program.
- Extension activities and visuals including flashcards and conjunction bricks to make the tasks varied and multisensory.
- The evidence base: we explain in Plain English why this intervention works. Understand the 15 Principles of grammatical intervention (Fey et al 2003, Finestack et al 2023) and how we have applied these principles to Language Unleashed. We also explain how we have embedded implicit and explicit teaching, sentence imitation, praise, dosage, and cognitive load theory into our design.
“Language Unleashed offers a fabulous and dynamic learning opportunity for struggling learners.”
