Professional Development Training & Workshops Across Australia
Speech Pathology Tasmania (SPT) delivers professional development training, workplace learning and professional mentoring across Australia for educators, speech pathologists, early childhood teams, allied health professionals, correctional services, community organisations and other professional teams.
Our professional development workshops are designed to build practical knowledge and skills across literacy, dyslexia, reading and spelling, communication, speech and language development, structured literacy, phonics, inclusive practice, attachment-informed practice and specialist areas of speech pathology.
Our facilitators include speech pathologists, educators and Orton-Gillingham Language Approach Master Trainers, with experience across clinical practice, literacy, dyslexia, structured literacy, communication, education and professional learning.
Training can be tailored to the needs of your organisation, team, profession and workplace. Workshops are practical, interactive and designed to support participants to apply their learning in everyday practice.

Yes. Professional mentoring and support is available for teacher assistants, education support staff and school teams. Sessions can be tailored to the needs of your role and may focus on literacy and language development, supporting students with communication and learning needs, classroom strategies, dyslexia, structured literacy and working collaboratively with teachers and speech pathologists. Professional mentoring and support is available across Tasmania and Australia-wide, face-to-face or online, providing flexible support for individuals and school teams.
What professional mentoring and supervision do you offer for speech pathologists?
Speech Pathology Tasmania provides mentoring and supervision for speech pathologists across Australia. One-on-one support can include clinical case discussion, clinical reasoning, assessment and intervention planning, literacy and dyslexia, speech, language and communication, dysphagia and other specialist areas of speech pathology practice. Sessions can be tailored to individual clinical needs and professional development goals and be delivered face-to-face in Tasmania or online Australia wide.
Can schools book Australia-wide Orton-Gillingham Language Approach training?
Yes. We provide Australia-wide Orton-Gillingham Language Approach training for schools, educators and organisations. Training can be delivered at your location, hosted by your school, or provided online via Microsoft Teams for selected workshops. Our professional learning is tailored to your team’s literacy goals and supports evidence-based, structured literacy instruction.
Do your workshops count towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD)?
Yes. Many of our professional development workshops can contribute towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, depending on the standards set by your professional association or employer. Our evidence-based training is suitable for teachers, speech pathologists, allied health professionals, early childhood educators and other professionals seeking to maintain or enhance their knowledge and skills. Participants receive a Certificate of Completion for eligible workshops, which can be used as evidence of attendance and professional learning. We deliver CPD training online and in person for organisations throughout Australia.
