Making Practice Effective, Engaging,
and Stress-Free

Therapy often involves repetitive practise of the same activities to develop mastery of specific skills. We know that some skills are best supported by frequent, high-intensity practise, and that deep learning happens when the practise is fun and engaging.

We also know that doing therapy practice at home can be hard, and even stressful. A lack of practise is a significant barrier to making progress. This is why our Speech Pathologist often recommend an STA to help our clients achieve their goals.

How STA’s Support Therapy

Our STAs are guided by the treating Speech Pathologist to implement routine practise of individualised treatment plans. This means, STA services do not replace regular sessions with a qualified Speech Pathologist. In this model of service-delivery, the Speech Pathologist will continue to work with the client regularly to monitor progress and adjust therapy activities according to their individual needs.

The STAs role is to support the client to carry out routine, regular practice in a flexible and affordable way. STAs are charged at a lower rate than the speech pathologist, so working with an STA can be a cost-effective solution for people who require ongoing therapy.
