Hanen ‘More Than Words®’ Program

This research-based, family-focused program supports parents and carers of young children with autism or social communication difficulties. It empowers parents to become the primary facilitators of their child’s communication development.

Who is it for?
Ideal for parents of children aged 6 and under, or older children functioning at a younger level with autism or social communication challenges.

What You’ll Learn:

• How to support your child’s communication during everyday routines
• Strategies to build social skills through natural interactions
• Ways to strengthen your connection and engage meaningfully with your child
• Confidence and tools to create rich communication opportunities at home
• A chance to connect with other parents in a supportive environment

This 13 week / 41.5 hours total program includes:

• 1x individual child assessment
• 9x parent group sessions (2.5 hrs each)
• 3x individual parent-child sessions
• A personalised end-of-program report
• Delivered face-to-face by a senior, Hanen-certified speech pathologist.

COST

• NDIS funding can be used to access this program
• The total cost of the 13-week program is $3400, which we will invoice at $850/month over 4 months. Having said that, we are also really happy to work with families to arrange longer payment plans if that helps to make it manageable and affordable, particularly if self-funded. If families do not have access to NDIS funds, they should also know that they may be eligible for some Medicare rebated sessions. They cannot claim a rebate on group sessions, but they can claim the rebate on the individual sessions.
