Rosie has extensive hands-on experience with people with lived experience of prison and marginalisation. She understands and applies the evidence, research and knowledge within the fields of justice and communication.

In developing the JCA programs Rosie combined the experience of speech pathology work in prisons, in community, learnings from consultations with over 1000 legal practitioners including judges, magistrates, and supreme and high court judges from Australia and New Zealand. Rosie’s depth of understanding and hands-on experience in engaging with these groups, and in mentoring, and leading programs with prison inmates, has formed the foundation of JCA.
Rosie is an advocate, professional speaker, a Tasmanian witness intermediary, and a member of the Tasmanian Sentencing Advisory Council. She is currently completing a PHD at the University of Tasmania in the School of Social Sciences to continue to build evidence for the value of the important work that JCA does. In 2017 Rosie was awarded the Tasmanian Australian of the Year for work teaching literacy and communication to prisoners and those at-risk of justice involvement.
