Our professional mentoring for teacher assistants is designed to build the practical knowledge and skills needed to confidently support individual students and groups with diverse learning, developmental and communication needs.
Mentoring can focus on:
• Literacy support – developing tailored strategies to support reading, spelling, phonological awareness, vocabulary and comprehension.
• Dyslexia & structured literacy – understanding literacy difficulties and applying evidence-informed approaches, including principles of the Orton-Gillingham Language Approach.
• ADHD & Autism – understanding individual needs and adapting communication, activities and classroom support.
• Global developmental delay & intellectual disability – adapting learning, communication and activities tailored to abilities and levels of development.
• Speech, language & communication – recognising communication needs and using practical strategies to support participation and understanding.
• Social communication & inclusion – supporting interaction, engagement and participation across classroom and group settings.
